Throwback Thursday- Lino Turns The Big 2-0!

20 years ago at 9:45 AM today my boyfriend took his very first breath!
This was taken at his first birthday!
It's so hard to believe that we are both 20. It still feels like sometimes we are still in high school not caring about life.  We have been through 3 birthdays together and I hope we spend many more together.

He was born in Austin, Texas lived in Mexico for a few years. Then moved back to the Buda/Austin area. At one point he was living in a house with more or less 25 people. He is the oldest among 4 children. He has a black belt in Karate.
This was taken by PKC Karate. He's on a 20-30 foot cliff.
We both went to the same Elementary school (Tom Green), the same middle school (Barton), and of course the same high school (Jack C. Hays). This amazing guy is my best friend and my world.

Happy birthday Lino Genryc Montoya!

Wish him a happy birthday in the comments below if you guys want to. Follow my FacebookTwitterInstagram for updates on my blog and my life. :)

Do Your Own Wednesday- How I stay Organized!

Today I'm going to give you guys a look into how I stay organized. I am NOT a organized person at all. I have to work hard at staying organized but I need organization in my life.

I use two different planners. One for me to be organized and messy at the same time The other to be more neatly organized. I use a BIC brand multi colored pen and a Papermate sharpwriter pencil. I love this pencil so much it writes to good and the lead doesn't break easily. I press down pretty hard so I love it!

First off I will show you guys my messy planner because it's the most basic and simple.

These paper inserts I got at Office Max. I personally don't like these that much because there are sections I don't even use. I do like the fact that the dates I put in, that's where my handy stamp comes in :). My dinner meals are written in green.

On the right side I plan my blog posts out. Which are blue

Next up is my simple and neat planner. I purchased this planner in the school supply section of Dollar General. This one I like a lot more, I actually wish I had this when I was still in high school! There are many resources in the back that would be useful in the back for any student.

Excuse my messy hand writing :)
This is the week at a glance. In pencil I have appointments and my blog posts. In green I have my boyfriends work schedule and special meals. Black I have birthdays and holidays.

Above is next week which is currently blank LOL. I have this sticky note (got at Walmart for like $1) for my weekly grocery shopping.

I like to dress up the monthly view by adding some washi tape as a border. I bought them off of Etsy here. I used this tape for October because it's my anniversary month.

I use blue ink for very special events like my cousins wedding. Black for  birthdays. Green and red ink for miscellaneous things. I use those post it flags to mark dates that I need to pay bills on.

That's how I stay organised as much as I can. Next year though I would like to maybe make my own planner that suits my needs a bit more.

Garden Tuesday- Garden Haul + Chick update!

There is not much going on with my garden. I think that its about finished for the year. My tomatoes are turning brown and starting to die. Here's my garden haul for this week.

One red poblano pepper, a sprig of basil, two tomatillos a tomato and a handful of banana peppers!
This little guy came in on my poblano.

Found this spider in my garden. Took a picture then went to the opposite side of my garden LOL!

Baby chick update!!

I first introduced you guys to these chicks about three weeks ago here. Well now they are so big, just look for yourself!

Do you have any idea how hard it is to take a picture of theses guy! They are super fast.

This guy here is getting red and white strip feathers on its chest along with the black and whites ones everywhere else.

This one started getting black legs a week or so ago! Look at those legs silly chicken! :) I have no clue if they are going to be hens or roosters.

¾ cup sugar
1 Teaspoon vanilla
3 Eggs

For the topping:
1 cup whipping cream
Strawberry preserves

Directions:
1. Heat oven to 325°F (162°C)

2. Melt butter in a sauce pan. Mix graham cracker crumbs 2 Tbsp sugar and melted butter together: press in the bottoms of 18 lined cupcake tins.

3. Beat cream cheese, sugar  and vanilla until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition.

4. Spoon filling in each cup. Bake 25 minutes or until enters are almost set. Let cool and refrigerate 2 hours.

5. Beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form spoon on top of cheesecake. I topped about half this way then I add a spoonful or two of the strawberry preserves and beat again till blended and topped on a few more cheesecakes.

Thirsty Thursday- Creamsicle Summer Drink

Summer time is all about hot days and cold drinks and ice cream. I'm going to show you guys a way to drink your creamsicle ice cream pop. There are two ways to make it and I will tell you both way.

Option 1:

1/3 cup frozen orange juice (1/2 of 6-oz can)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
5-6 crushed ice cubes

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth. This one is more like a smoothie and not thick like a milk shake. Makes about two glasses.

Option 2:

1/3 cup frozen orange juice
1/2 cup milk
3-4 large scoops of vanilla ice cream

1. Once again blend till smooth. This one will be thick like a milkshake. You can add more or less ice cream depending on how thick you want it. Makes about 2 glasses.

This is option 1.

Do Your Own Wednesday- Garage Sale Makeover!

If you follow my Munchie Monday posts you may have noticed a plain cake stand. I got that cake stand at a garage sale for $1 with the intention of making it into something very pretty.
The paint color is Coral Isle.

I bought a can of spray paint from Walmart for about $3. All I did was flip the cake stand upside down on a scrap peacie of wood and gave it about 3 coats of paint. I did not spray the part of the stand that holds the cake/cupcakes.

I was left with a clear spot on the top where the glass met and I personally don't mind that.

I think it came out nice. Be sure to follow me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram

Garden Tuesday- Fall Planning

So nothing much has happened in the garden this week. I have gotten a few cherry tomatoes and jalapenos. The darn grasshoppers have eaten more of my larger tomatoes! I weed whacked the grass down and trimmed back the tomatillos some.
Before the weed whacking.
After weed whacking.
This fall I want to try to and make some sort of a fall garden. I also want to make some sort of plastic cover to go over top of the garden so I can try to get the plants to go around till next spring.

A few plants I would love to grow are:

All of the links above are from Burpee Seeds and Plants. I might buy this from the local plant nursery instead of trying to plant seeds. I am excited to start planning this falls garden and next years spring garden and I can't wait to share this with all of you. :)

Sorry this is short this week nothing really happened like I said. Be sure to follow me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Munchie Monday- S'Mores Cupcakes!

Hi everybody! I hope you guys had a terrific weekend!
I love to eat s'mores whenever we grill outside or go camping but, in Texas it's gets to hot sometimes to do that stuff so I thought I would attempt to make s'more cupcakes!

You will need:
Graham crackers
Hershey's chocolate bars
Marshmallows
One box chocolate cake mix

Directions:

1. Follow the directions on the box cake mix and bake.

2. In a food processor or blender crumble about 3-4 graham crackers.

3. When the cupcakes are about 5 minutes from being done and place a marshmallow on top of each cupcake and finish baking.

This was all that was left by the time I took the picture! OOPS! :)
4. Well the marshmallows are still gooey (a real technical term right LOL) sprinkle the graham cracker crumbles over the cupcakes.  Break the Hershey's bar up, don't worry they aren't suppose to look perfect, and stick one piece in the center of each cupcake.
I personally like them a little warm but they still taste delicious cold and room temperature!

They are messy just like real s'mores!
I hope you enjoy this recipe! If you try these out you can tag me on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.
